We are delighted to be able to offer for sale what must be the best example of a Mercedes-Benz 280 SE to have come to the market in recent years.
This example was originally ordered by Mr Phillips via GoodLife Garages in Croydon and he took delivery of the 280 on the 18th of January 1971. Finished in Horizon Blue, which is still original paintwork and complemented by a lovely and unmarked Cream interior. Its wooden facia inserts help to add a timeless touch and are in perfect condition.
The car stayed with the Phillips family until 1991, when Mrs Phillips passed away. A Mr Harmer purchased the car in October 1991 and went about having it recommissioned, it having been garaged for many years. He used the car between 1991 and 1995 covering just 1,800 miles, he then put the car into storage until 2008, when it was sold to a Mr Covey, who sold it to a Jaguar enthusiast named Mr Hughes, who once again recommissioned it and MOT’d it. The Mercedes had only covered 11 miles between the 8th of June 1995 and the 4th of April 2008.
Mr Hughes then sold the car to a Mr Sweetham on the 17th of May 2008 at a mileage of just 15,045 miles.
Its current keeper has owned the car since and had it maintained exclusively by the respected John Haynes Independent Mercedes-Benz specialist.
It has had a total of five registered keepers and has now covered a mere 25,603 miles.
This is a motorcar that must be viewed to be fully appreciated and we can wholeheartedly say it drives as perfectly as it looks. A real gem and a delight to offer for sale at BRAMLEY.
