We are a little bit in love with our latest Porsche arrival, this gorgeous 911 Speedster, finished in GT Silver Metallic with optional (and £15,500!) Heritage Design Package.
The Speedster was the final hoorah for the 991 series car, cherry-picking some of the best bits from various models from its 8-year production cycle. The bonnet and front wings were taken from the 911 R and the engine and all-wheel steering were pinched from the GT3 Coupe, whilst the rear apron came courtesy of the GT3 Touring. Curiously, the performance statistics do differ slightly from the hardtop GT3's, with power being upped from 493 to 503 bhp - but no one is complaining about that!
The Speedster was, of course, a limited-run model, with just 1948 examples being built globally. The production number is a nod to the year Porsche made its first road car and the Speedster should, be seen as a 70th birthday present to itself (or the 1948 lucky people that got an allocation...).
This stunning motorcar is a fabulous open-top sports car and its splendidly analogue in a sea of turbos and electric gismos. The roof is manually operated (no big deal, as it is as light as a feather and can be put up or down in circa 20 seconds), the engine is naturally aspirated with a 9,000 rpm redline and the gearbox? Well, MANUAL ONLY!
It is safe to say we're smitten and if we weren't in the business of selling cars, we might well keep it.
Sold with a full Porsche service history, clean MOT certificate, the balance of a Porsche Warranty until 2025 and the individual Porsche Design Wristwatch made and offered with each special edition car.
